Doctora en Ciencias Sociales y Gestión de Recursos Naturales de la Universidad de Melbourne, Australia. Posee un Magíster en Gestión y Planificación Ambiental de la Universidad de Chile.

Sus áreas de especialización son la dimensión social e institucional de la gestión de desastres y el cambio climático, con énfasis en la adaptación, transformación y gestión local.

Dr. Aldunce is a Full Professor at the University of Chile, Associate Researcher of the Risk and Disaster Reduction Program, CITRID, and of the Center for Climate and Resilience Sciences, CR2. She is lead author of three of the IPCC Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports.

Based in Ottawa, Canada, Daniel Morchain is the Conservancy's Global Director of Climate Adaptation. In his role, Daniel leads the establishment and implementation of a common adaptation vision and agenda across the organization.

The global adaptation team supports Conservancy teams and partners around the world to identify and implement nature-based adaptation solutions that reduce the impacts of climate change felt by communities and help them build resilience. Undertaking adaptation efforts that deliver equitable and just outcomes, especially for the most climate-vulnerable populations, is a priority for Daniel and the organization as a whole.

Antes de unirse a TNC a principios de 2022, Daniel trabajó con el Instituto Internacional para el Desarrollo Sostenible (IISD, por sus siglas en inglés), la Red Global NAP, asesorando a actores estatales y no estatales en el desarrollo de Planes Nacionales de Adaptación, enfoques de gobernanza multinivel y equidad de género.

Anteriormente, pasó siete años como asesor principal sobre adaptación y resiliencia al cambio climático en Oxfam.

Daniel tiene una Maestría en Gestión y Política Ambiental de la Universidad de Lund en Suecia, y una Licenciatura en Economía y Estudios Latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Yale. Es un hispanohablante nativo, habla inglés con fluidez y tiene conocimientos prácticos de francés.
